Live from New York!

We landed in New York City yesterday afternoon and steered straight for a bar...well, several bars.  Three Monkeys, The Stagecoach Tavern (formerly the Stage Deli - which, according to Joe, had THE BEST POTATO SALAD EVER), and The House of Brews.  Yep, lots of beer.

Ray Kinsella: So what do you want?
Terence Mann: I want them to stop looking to me for answers, begging me to speak again, write again, be a leader. I want them to start thinking for themselves. I want my privacy.
Ray Kinsella: No, I mean, what do you WANT?
[Gestures to the concession stand they're in front of]
Terence Mann: Oh. Dog and a beer.

So we're on the hunt for some good potato salad, as well as pizza, the perfect bagel, and a New York Steak.  I'm sure we'll find what we're looking for.

Today, we hit MOMA.  We saw some stuff:

That guy probably ate all that soup.

I wept.  sigh

Jackson Pollack...what the inside of his brain must have looked like.

It's Christina's World, and we're just living in it.

Golden Marilyn.  Still fabulous.  Still golden.

This was missing from our trip to the Dali Museum in Spain...we feel complete now.

So few female artists...thank you, Frida.

Massive water lilies.  So vibrant.

More water lilies.  So calming.

Tonight, we have tickets to Aladdin! - my birthday present.  I'll be singing "Friend Like Me" right along with them.  So excited!

Tomorrow the plan is to head to lower Manhattan and go to the 9/11 museum (it's a crazy weekend due to the 15th anniversary).  Hopefully the crowds will be worse on Sunday and we can actually get in tomorrow.  Who knows?  If not, we'll probably go to the Met - another great museum.  So much to do here!
